摘要：近幾年，耳邊時常會聽到消息說，某個朋友因為愛人被派去外地或外國工作而放棄北京的一切跟隨前往。在這樣的情形中，這位跟隨愛人前往另一個陌生城市的朋友就叫做trailing spouse。

　　The term trailing spouse is used to describe a person who follows his or her life partner to another city because of a newly-found job or work assignment. The term is often associated with people involved in anexpatriate assignment but is also used on domestic assignments.

　　Trailing spouse(隨遷配偶)指因為伴侶換工作或者接受工作委派而隨其搬到另一個城市的人。境外委派或者國內委派任務中的隨遷配偶均可用此表達。

　　The phenomena of trailing spouses is most apparent in the military, diplomatic, and other government communities as well as the private sector where the employer regularly re-assigns their employees to new locations.

　　隨遷配偶多出現(xiàn)于軍隊、外交、政府機構以及私營企業(yè)等會定期輪換委派員工到不同地區(qū)的單位。
