　　這是一首成年男子寫給母親的詩，回憶了母親對自己無微不至的呵護(hù)。詩歌本身不押韻，采用了自由詩的形式(free verse)，更像是一封家書。

　　How did you find the energy, Mom

　　To do all the things you did,

　　To be teacher, nurse and counselor

　　To me, when I was a kid.

　　How did you do it all, Mom,

　　Be a chauffeur, cook and friend,

　　Yet find time to be a playmate,

　　I just can't comprehend.

　　I see now it was love, Mom

　　That made you come whenever I'd call,

　　Your inexhaustible love, Mom

　　And I thank you for it all.

　　媽媽，你的能量源于何處?

　　可以完成所有的事，

　　當(dāng)一個(gè)老師，護(hù)士，和顧問。

　　在我還是一個(gè)孩子的時(shí)候。

　　媽媽，你是如何做到的。
